It was our great privilege to work with our colleague and friend, Peggy Zimmerman-Belbeck, for many years through the Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association. As many know, Peggy spent her 30-year career fighting for affordable health insurance and access to health care. Among her many contributions to the industry, she worked tirelessly to seamlessly transition former high risk pool members to new options available due to the Affordable Care Act implementation. This was no easy feat, as Minnesota had the largest high-risk enrollment in the nation.
Peggy was a strong advocate for universal health care, an empathic voice for people in need, and a health care resource for the MN State Legislature.
In order to commemorate her lasting impact and passion for helping people, we hope you will join us in providing financial support of the Peggy Zimmerman-Belbeck Scholarship for Health Policy at the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health. We hope to raise over $25,000 in support of the scholarship, which will honor Peggy’s legacy in perpetuity. The scholarship is both a personal and professional priority for us.
The world needs more people like Peggy; people who work to make health care available and affordable for all, regardless of their circumstances. We implore you to consider supporting this effort.
